Make your set last

A plain-English aftercare guide — the five habits that separate a six-week set from a two-week disappointment.

Lash cleanser, soft brush and spoolie laid out on a marble surface

Extensions don’t fall out because they’re “bad” — they fall out because of oil, friction and neglect. The good news is that keeping a set looking fresh is genuinely simple. Here are the five things that matter, in order.

1. Cleanse them — yes, really

The single biggest myth is that you should keep lashes dry. The opposite is true. Oil, sweat and makeup build up at the lash line and break down the adhesive from underneath. Wash your lashes every day or two with a dedicated foaming lash cleanser and a soft brush, then air-dry and brush through with a clean spoolie. Clean lashes hold on far longer than “protected” ones.

2. Avoid oil like it owes you money

Oil is the one true enemy of lash adhesive. Check your cleanser, moisturiser, makeup remover and even your sunscreen for oils near the eye area. Switch to oil-free or water-based products for anything that touches your lash line, and skip waterproof mascara entirely — the remover for it is the worst offender.

3. Sleep on your back (or on silk)

Crushing your lashes into a pillow for eight hours is the fastest way to bend and shed them. Back-sleeping is ideal; if that’s not you, a silk or satin pillowcase reduces friction and helps lashes glide rather than snag.

4. Keep your hands off

Rubbing, picking and pulling take your natural lashes with them — and that’s the damage people wrongly blame on extensions. If a lash feels loose or twisted, brush it, don’t tug it. If something genuinely bothers you, message us and we’ll sort it.

5. Book infills on rhythm, not on panic

Your natural lashes shed on a cycle, so a set naturally thins after two to three weeks. Booking a regular infill on that rhythm keeps the set looking full and costs less than starting from scratch. Leave it too long and you’re paying for a new set instead of a top-up.

The short version

Cleanse daily, avoid oil, sleep gently, don’t touch, infill on time. Do those five and your set will look after itself. Want us to demonstrate the cleansing routine in person? We’ll happily walk you through it at your next visit.
